Advocates on the Move
Greetings from Dan Lorber, National Advocacy Chair
As Advocates, we are passionate about helping to improve the lives of people with diabetes and one day eradicating this deadly disease. Through my endocrinology practice, I'm reminded daily of the importance of our work. For forty years I've advocated for my patients by fighting for increased federal funding for diabetes research and programs, educating legislators on the importance of laws to keep children with diabetes safe at school, and working towards better public policies for people with diabetes and their loved ones.
What we do in our communities is so important, and that's why I'm asking you to get involved in American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure! The Tour de Cure now has a non-competitive 5k walk and run along with their existing biking options so it's truly an activity for the entire family! Biking, running or walking at Tour is another great way that we can provide visibility to the vital advocacy work that we do while raising much-needed funds for diabetes research, advocacy, and education. And with more than 50 Tours nationwide, there's bound to be an event near you!
Please join in the fun and fundraising for our mission by participating in the Advocates on the Move National team! Registering online is easy, and with your registration, you will receive a personal page a perfect place to share your reason for participating!
We look forward to seeing you at an event soon!
