As a global healthcare leader working to help the world be well, Merck is proud to have a National Team for the American Diabetes Association's Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes.
Diabetes continues to be a global epidemic. It is estimated that approximately 285 million people worldwide have diabetes today, and this number is expected to double in the next 20 years. In the United States alone, 4,320 people are diagnosed every 24 hours—that is more than 5 million people since 2007.
We at Merck are passionate about our Company's mission to deliver novel, important therapies for patients. Merck is committed to further advancing the medical community's understanding of how to better manage type 2 diabetes, and to providing novel treatment options to people with type 2 diabetes who need them.
We are proud to have the opportunity to participate as a Merck National Team for the ADA's Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes.
