Our Goal: | Raised:
We Step Out to do our part to Stop Diabetes and take steps to improve our health! Participants are changing the future and making a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. You can too!
Step Out participants are committed to walk and raise money in this inspirational event not because 29 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because they walk among us in our lives and at the event.
In South Florida approximately 1 in 3 residents will have diabetes or pre-diabetes. Together we can make a difference in the fight against diabetes! In 2015, the American Diabetes Association is proud to announcement that Teddy Morse of Ed Morse Automotive Group and Pat Nelson of the AvMed are co-Chairing the Walk and will be leading our efforts to create a fun filled experience for our walkers while we raise funds for a cure!
Once you register, you'll be given your very own web page and will have access to lots of tools to help you fundraise your Step Out Center. You'll be able to customize the page with your reason for walking, send emails to ask others to join you or donate, and even download Facebook and smart phone apps. And of course, your Step Out Specialists (ADA staff) will be here to help all along the way!
On the day of the Walk bring the family! We have a fantastic KidsZone with family friendly activities, live stage performances, a Senior Pavilion and much more! Be sure to check out Health Fest @ Step Out to learn about local and national health and wellness resources. At Health Fest receive free medical screenings and talk one on one with professionals in the diabetes and wellness world.
